Event Overview
Challenge Almere-Amsterdam is one of triathlon's most historic races — Europe's oldest long-distance event and the world's only race held entirely below sea level. Set in the modern Dutch city of Almere beside the Weerwater lake, the calm sheltered swim, aerodynamic flat bike through polder landscapes, and spectator-lined run through the vibrant city centre combine for one of the fastest full-distance courses on the planet. Eleven European Championships and two World Championships have been held here.
